Riverfest Marketplace 2012

As the primary sponsor for The Riverfest Marketplace, we had the opportunity to meet a ton of new people yesterday and share with them what chiropractic can do for them.

It was a hot and windy day, but that didn’t stop everyone from stoping by to get a free massage. Once they were at our tent the usual questions would come up; what is chiropractic, can it help me, and how long do you guys go to school? The last one is simple, 8 years, the other two questions we will answer below.

Chiropractors work with the spine to realign the vertebra, thus freeing the nervous system from pinched nerves that cause pain and discomfort. Chiropractic adjustments are administered to the effected areas to release joint immobilizations. Your chiropractor can the prescribe physiotherapies to alleviate some of the different symptoms that can be caused by pinched nerves.

How can you benefit from chiropractic care? First off, check out this website and look at some of the most current research backing chiropractic. As you can tell, back problems rarely start with pain, that’s only when people do something about them. Most back issues will start with right muscles, early fatigue and poor posture. Once the nerve is pinched enough, then pain will start. As you can tell, whether your in pain or discomfort, or your seeking wellness care, chiropractic can offer a broad range of services to meet your healthcare goals.

It was fun meeting all of the new faces at Riverfest on Saturday. If you have any questions call or stop by the clinic and we would love to give you a sound answer to what’s bothering you. Thanks again Wichita, for the opportunity to serve you!

  1. Unless you treat the source of the pain, of cosure it’s going to keep coming back. A massage might loosen the muscles and release the trigger points, but if you leave the massage table and adopt the poor posture and bad ergonomics that brought the problem on in the first place, then yes, it’s going to come right back. If your engine is leaking oil, you can hardly expect that adding more is going to fix the problem permanently you need to find out where the leak is happening and fix it.Depending on what exactly is going on, it might be a case of needing ongoing maintenance. If it’s a structural deformity like scoliosis, flat feet, or knocked knees that’s the source of the problem, as an adult these things will probably not go totally away and need to be managed regularly. But if it’s a case of using your body poorly bending over to lift heavy objects, using poor posture, holding a phone with your shoulder, etc., then you can change your habits and help the problem dramatically. Even fixable problems are going to take time to undo. You can’t expect lasting results from one or two sessions. You didn’t do this to yourself in 2-3 days, it’s not going to go away in that length of time, either.
