For those of you that know me, I’ve been singing the praises of vitamin D for about 6 months. As stated in the article, the multitude of benefits seem almost too good to be true! The latest research points to a 50% reduction in Pancreatic cancer rates.
Pancreatic cancer has been in the news lately, due to its fast metastasis rates and a low number of treatment options due to its severity. Pancreatic cancer is the fourth most common cause of cancer-related deaths across the globe. Pancreatic cancer often has a poor prognosis: for all stages combined, the 1- and 5-year relative survival rates are 25% and 6%, respectively; for local disease the 5-year survival is approximately 20% while the median survival for locally advanced and for metastatic disease, which collectively represent over 80% of individuals, is about 10 and 6 months respectively.
On top of how aggressive Pancreatic cancer is, there have been a few celebrities that have had it in the past few years, notably; Patrick Swayze and Steve Jobs.
So, grab you vitamin D and get taking it! I encourage you to take it for other reasons such as; boosting your immunity, regulating cholesterol and increasing your energy and serotonin levels. Take to me at your next appointment and I will see what dosage you should be taking.
